Resources for Creating Background Images

I had this idea that Microsoft Paint would be a capable background image creator.  I am sure it is, but I didn’t have much success with it today.  During my semi-failed attempt, which I will still share, I found a new site and rediscovered an old favorite.

My new found love is BgPatterns.  For my teaching science site, I am in love with the idea of having the radioactivity sign as a background.  The twist is I would style it in serene colors.  Does it even register as a hazard symbol with the color combo below?

Background Playing

I found the above site after my Microsoft Paint endeavors panned out to be not as easy as I thought they’d be.  I created a circle pattern template below that you can feel free to download and modify in Paint.

Here is one example of it colored green and white, scaled smaller, and tiled.

Not the greatest design, but I was aiming for simplicity.  This is when I remembered a favorite site – Colour Lovers.  As the name implies, it is a great site for color inspiration.
