Wear Springtime in Winter

I am not one to follow for fashion.  I don’t look at style magazines except for covers you can’t help but see in the supermarket line.  Here is further proof I don’t follow fashion rules.  My idea: Wear springtime clothes in winter.  My reason: It might make you feel good.  This is my anecdotal evidence.  Yesterday I was feeling overwhelmed, had a horrible migraine, and thus, didn’t have the greatest day. Today I am still overwhelmed, thankfully didn’t have a migraine, yet I had a much better day.  I attribute it in part to the bright spring colors I donned. Here are my outfit specifics.

I wore a green trench coat I purchased from Old Navy along with some not so skinny jeans from Ann Taylor Loft.  My brown slouchy boots are Colin Stuart, a Victoria Secret brand.  I remember getting the coat on clearance at Old Navy.  I purchased both the boots and pants off Ebay at a much discounted price.  I am frugal but I like nice brands.

I am a sucker for the classics, so I paired this ensemble with a white button down shirt from Express that I have had so long I don’t remember where I got it.  The scarf was my inspiration for the outfit.  It was a Christmas present from a student and I wanted to wear it to show them my appreciation.  I believe this means that they are to thank for my spring in winter idea.  This also means that you can have no negative criticism of my springtime in winter idea because it is rude to judge a child’s fashion sense.

It was a comfy and bright outfit for dress down day at work.  Note to self: In the future, I need to move office stuff out of the background of my pictures.  Warning to you: I probably will not.  Life lesson: Spend your time doing what you love.
